NaviGate Fair – putting maritime industry and logistics players on the same course
The international NaviGate maritime industry and logistics fair will attract more than 100 of the sector’s key companies to the Turku Fair and Congress Center. The gathering is highly anticipated as the sector’s attractiveness and momentum are once again on the rise. The NaviGate Fair will take place at the Turku Fair and Congress Center between the 18th and 19th of May.
The European Maritime Day Conference (EMD) will take place in Turku simultaneously with the fair.
On Wednesday, 18th of May, issues discussed at the fair will include the laws of the maritime industry. Lexia Oy will organise a seminar on the intriguing topic “Will robots replace captains?” with automation in maritime traffic featuring as one of the key themes at the fair. Docent Henrik Ringbom from the University of Turku will take on the subject with a focus on the Baltic region.
The first day of the fair will also feature a science afternoon, arranged by the University of Turku. Future energy solutions is a current issue which is bound to spark discussion at the event.
A Transport Day orchestrated by the Turku Chamber of Commerce will take place on Thursday the 19th of May. The second fair day will feature an Arctic seminar with an offshore theme while another key topic will be the radical improvement of production efficiency in industrial production.
A large group of the sector’s players will take part: Meyer Turku, the Port of Turku, Enterprise Europe Network, LOGY, SKAL, Langh Oy, Elomatic, Finpro, Finnish Maritime Industries, the City of Turku and the University of Turku. NaviGate will also offer, among other things, training and recruitment events, which are expected to have a large turnout. In addition, the fair will offer a networking opportunity through the Navigate Matchmaking network.
