NaviGate 2020 was a success

The NaviGate 2020 event, organised at Turku Fair Center in Finland at the end of January, was a success. The maritime industry and logistics trade show, arranged every two years, saw an almost 50 per cent increase in visitors. Attendees included more than 2,000 professionals and students in the sector.

This year, the two-day event, organised every other year, included the international, extremely high-quality SeaFocus IntelligenceHunt6 project. The event brought together maritime companies and international students, the sector’s next generation of experts. The exceptional event, with its new innovations and ideas, attracted a lot of attention and the case presentations held on the programme stage drew a substantial following both at the fair and online.

Visitors to the NaviGate 2020 event arrived from 20 different countries. Almost 70 per cent of the event’s exhibitors and visitors arrived primarily to network. People from altogether nine countries took part in the NaviGate Matchmaking event, organised during the fair, looking for networking opportunities. Visitors took great interest in the various presentations at the event, such as a discussion on the future of the shipyard industry.
According to the visitor survey, the strengthening of their brand and trademarks was important to companies. A further indication of their high regard for the event was the willingness of 94 per cent of exhibitors to recommend the event.

The event will be organised next on 26–27 January 2022. The theme of NaviGate 2022 will be ‘sustainability at sea’.
